South African Cybersecurity Awards (SACAs)
Organised by CyberM8 Initiative NPC

1. Organiser
The South African Cybersecurity Awards (“SACAs”) are hosted and managed by CyberM8 Initiative NPC, a registered non-profit company (NPC) in South Africa committed to cybersecurity skills development, awareness, and education.
2. Eligibility

Entries are open to individuals, teams, organisations, public institutions, start-ups, researchers, and community-based initiatives operating within or contributing to the cybersecurity ecosystem in South Africa.

Nominees must be South African citizens, permanent residents, or registered entities with operations in South Africa.

Employees and direct affiliates of CyberM8 Initiative NPC and the judging panel may not submit entries or be nominated.
3. Entry and Submission

Nominations may be submitted by the nominee, a third party, or a representative organisation.

All entries must be submitted via the official nomination form available at www.cybersecurityindaba.co.za/awards before the deadline.

Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.

Supporting documentation must be original, factual, and verifiable.
4. Judging Process

A panel of independent judges from government, academia, civil society, and industry will assess submissions.

Judges will score entries based on published criteria including impact, innovation, relevance, inclusivity, and alignment with national cybersecurity objectives.

All decisions made by the judging panel are final and not subject to appeal.
5. Confidentiality

Information submitted during the nomination process will be treated with confidentiality and used solely for evaluation purposes.

CyberM8 reserves the right to contact nominees or referees for clarification.
6. Publicity and Promotion

By submitting an entry or accepting a nomination, all entrants grant CyberM8 permission to publish their name, photo, organisational affiliation, and summary of their work for promotional purposes, including media, event brochures, and social platforms.

Finalists and winners agree to participate in post-award publicity as reasonably requested.
7. Awards Ceremony

Winners will be announced and recognised at the South African Cybersecurity Awards Gala Dinner on 30 October 2025 at The Innovation Hub, Pretoria.

Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory for award eligibility.

Tickets to the gala dinner must be purchased separately unless otherwise specified in an official invitation.
8. Disqualification
CyberM8 reserves the right to disqualify any nominee or submission that:

Contains false or misleading information

Violates intellectual property rights or any applicable laws

Is deemed to breach the values of CyberM8 Initiative NPC or undermine the integrity of the Awards
9. Amendments
CyberM8 reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, award categories, or judging criteria at any time without prior notice. Any such changes will be updated on the official website.
